Garnet Lane ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Garnet Lane mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information.

By using the Service you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account information

When you create an account we collect your email address. We use this to authenticate you and communicate service-related information (e.g. transaction receipts, account notices).

Payment information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or CVV codes on our servers. We store only the information Stripe returns to us (e.g. last-four digits, card brand, expiration) to display your saved payment methods.

Wallet & transaction data

We store your wallet balance and a history of vend transactions (machine, amount, timestamp) so you can review your usage and resolve disputes.

Push notification tokens

If you grant notification permission, we store a device push token to deliver cycle-completion and account alerts. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.

Bluetooth

The app uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to communicate with laundry machines at your property. We do not collect or transmit personal data over Bluetooth. BLE is used only to send vend commands to nearby machines.

Usage data

We may collect anonymized usage information (e.g. feature interactions, error logs) to improve the Service. This data is not linked to your identity.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Authenticate your account and maintain your session.
• Process payments and maintain your wallet balance.
• Send transaction confirmations and service notices.
• Deliver push notifications you have opted into.
• Resolve disputes and provide customer support.
• Improve and debug the Service.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data only with:

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Convex — our backend database and real-time infrastructure.
• Law enforcement or regulators — when required by applicable law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and transaction data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account by contacting us at privacy@garnetlane.com.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures (TLS encryption in transit, access controls, and secure hosting) to protect your information. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by sending an email to the address on your account.
